Human Rights in the North Caucasus

ICCSA monitors and documents reported human rights violations in the republics of the North Caucasus. The purpose is to preserve verifiable information, identify patterns, and support lawful human rights assistance and public accountability.

What monitoring covers

Monitoring may include reports of detention, prosecution, intimidation, pressure on families, restrictions on expression and assembly, mistreatment, enforced disappearance, and other serious concerns. Inclusion in monitoring does not by itself establish a final legal conclusion.

Verification and responsible publication

Information should be compared across available sources, dated, attributed where safe, and separated into confirmed facts, witness accounts, allegations, and analysis. Personal information may be limited when publication could place individuals or families at additional risk.

Cooperation and independence

In cooperation with Ombudsman Media, ICCSA collects, organizes, and analyzes relevant information. This work is independent and nonpartisan. It does not support political parties, candidates, or election campaigns and does not replace advice from a licensed attorney or other qualified professional.
